Therefore, this paper begins with a description of a\nbilingual cognitive speaking model developed by Kormos( 2006), who based his own model largely on\nthe modular L1 cognitive speaking model hypothesized by Levelt( 1999). This is followed by a\ndescription of how L2 speaking ability is acquired in reference to that cognitive model, based on\nfoundational and recent internationally-published second language-speech research.
